BEHIND THE NUMBERS
How this calculation works
Worked example
The 15 October 2026 snapshot quotes 1.1208 USD per EUR; EUR1,000 converts to USD1,120.80 before provider costs.
Example result: 1,120.8
Step 1
Select the dated ECB snapshot or a provider quote, then choose source and destination currencies.
Step 2
ECB mode divides the destination reference rate by the source reference rate; it does not request a precomputed cross-rate.
Step 3
Fees are deducted in the source currency and the remaining amount is converted. The rate date is displayed with the result.
Assumptions and rounding
- The ECB data is a dated reference snapshot for information, not the amount a dealer will offer.
- The rate date is shown before the form and in every result. Weekends and TARGET closing days have no new ECB fixing.
